Actually, thats ‘normal’ on lower spec trims, on Euro models anyway. The lower halve of the rear and front bumpers and, I believe, the side skirts are black.

Oh, I guess it isn’t very clear from the rear. I’ll try for a side photo next time I commute at the same time as him. That way you can see the flared fenders which stick out an inch/inch & a half from the bumper edges. The car has wide body vented fenders up front which line up well with the front bumper, but the rear fenders look like they have been professionally widened (not sure if it was cut out and new pieces or just bent and reshaped really well.) So it’s weird that the stock rear bumper is just sort of...there still.
